Patriot’s Point Dress code and weapon’s policy

The USS Yorktown is both a museum and a memorial.  We will be sharing some space with regular visitors.  Out of respect to the memorial, other visitors, and the museum itself we require the following:

Please be sure to wear footwear while on the carrier.
Both males and females should have their nipples covered by clothing of some type. Tape isn’t enough. No side boob or under boob please.
No fake blood.
No nazi insignias, memorabilia, etc.
No swear words or offensive language on clothing.
No costumes or clothing that demeans any race, religion, nationality, handicapped condition or gender.
No visible underwear or undergarments.
No Trolls, or horns.
No dead, undead, or zombie cosplay.

*If you aren’t sure if your costume meets the dress code, you can always contact us at info@kantaicon for clarification.

*If your costume violates you will NOT be thrown out. We will work with you so that your costume does fall within our polices.

Weapons NOT Permitted

No metal swords, knives, bayonets, cane-swords, and/or other objects made of metal, which have a sharp point or sharpened edge.
No real or replica guns of any kind permitted. There are to be no:

  • Pellet guns
  • Air Guns
  • Mini or Pistol crossbows
  • Stun guns
  • Dart or Blowguns.

Nunchakus are not permitted. Nunchaku made out of craft materials will be permitted so long as it is not misused.

There are to be no explosives or chemicals of any kind, including but not limited to smoke powder, sparklers and fireworks.

Exceptions regarding guns
Easily identifiable toy plastic guns with no moving parts and that have a clearly visible non-removable orange tip will be permitted.

Wood and resin models will be permitted as long as they are marked with clearly visible non-removable orange tip.
